1. So this is my second attempt at a blog post...yesterday I finished one and then my stupid wireless internet stopped working for a minute so I lost the entire thing. This one will be way less elaborate because now I have lost motivation. Dammit.
2. Jones is now 2 months old. We went to his doctor's appointment this morning, not fun with three kiddos that are 3 and under. Scout cried everytime the nurse or Dr. Baumeister did anything to Jones because I think he thought it was his turn next and Mila can't stand for the attention to be on anyone but her so she was constantly in the doctor's or nurse's face and not listening to anything her mama said.
Jones is a healthy little guy weighing in at 11 lbs. 11oz and 23in. long which puts him in the 50th percentile for height and weight. This is the first time that I have exclusively breastfed (well not really, he has maybe one or two bottles of breast milk a week if I'm not with him) so I was really nervous to see if he is gaining the weight he should be. The last two nights he slept from 10 pm to 5 am which felt awesome, it might be time to move him into his own room! Other than being a bit of a fussy babe we love our littlest guy :)
3. Scout has four molars coming in....so he has been really fun....not. That's actually not true, he is always so sweet and well behaved that I can't really be angry at the fact that he is going through a tiny crabby stage. He loves playing outside like a fat kid loves cake....and he is a fat kid. He is so much more independent now when he plays out there with big sister, he just kind of walks around exploring the backyard, pushing his lawnmower has been a favorite pastime, he also discovered sprinklers last week while Husband was turning them off and on to see which ones needed to be fixed.....funniest thing ever. As soon as he would hear them starting up he would run as fast he could (which isn't fast..have you seen his cankles?) and stand right in the middle of it and get drenched, this went on for about twenty minutes.
4. Mila has a new friend. Her name is Karen and she lives next door, I think she is 4 or 5. We have lived next door to her family for the last 4 years but they only just recently became buddies. The interesting thing about their friendship is how they play together...through the fence that divides our backyards. It all started when Karen passed Mila a flower under the bottom of the fence, pretty soon Mila was pushing her firetruck up against it and standing on top of it to get a better look. So now when she goes outside to play she beelines it to the fence to see if her friend is also outside playing. They started trading dresses. Last week I was downstairs doing laundry when Mila came in wearing a dress that I had never seen before....I was a little shocked. Silly girl. She even tried to climb over the fence the other day...I shouldn't say "tried" because in all actuality she was completely over the fence when I sprinted over to it and grabbed her arms before she dropped 8 feet into their yard. She's crazy.
5. Husband and I started our bike rides again. Scout hates it. We pull him and Mila in our little bike trailer and he pretty much screams the whole 10 miles around the loop. Not sure if David is just pedalling too fast and he is scared or if he doesn't like being in a confined space with Mila right next to him...I would be nervous too :)
6. I'm going to try something new with this blog...every single day I plan on posting something funny that Mila said...sort of like a "word of the day" thing but more of a "the funny crap Mila says" kind of thing. She says the most random shit while we are in the car and I can never remember it even a few days later.
7. I am loving this weather, it is so nice to sit in the backyard or at a park and not freeze my ass off! I even got a sunburn two days ago :)
8. Running out of things to say....
9. Angelina Jolie needs to stop making any type of movie that involves her playing a spy, secret agent, or assassin...it's just not believable. Have you seen the way she runs? I've never seen anyone look so uncoordinated while running. And how much does she weigh? Like 96 lbs? How could a 96 lb woman physically pull off all of the crazy stuff her characters do. (We watched "Salt" the other night). Stick to dramas Angie...and adopting babies.
10. Glad I got that off my chest.
Here's a photo of Scout after his sprinkler extravaganza
