i'm always a little sad when christmas is over...i look forward to the days off from work, the food, the gift giving, and the family time. for the 24th we didn't do much, i cleaned out my car which is a HUGE chore for me, hung out with the folks and had some delish frozen pizza for dinner. we came home and watched some dexter and then sent mila to bed. i was pretty excited for christmas morning because this is the first year that mila really seemed to understand the whole christmas thing.
opening her new charm bracelet that came in her stocking
the disney princess collection was pretty high on her list...
new blanket (she now has four giraffe blankets and a pillow, spoiled much?) from daddy, i really wish he would have picked a different color. now i get to listen to david yell at her every five minutes for dragging it on the ground or leaving it on the floor...men...
the only present scout paid attention to, he mostly crawled around on mila's toys slapping and tasting. he also chewed on quite a bit of wrapping paper

me and the boy
after breakfast and arguing with mila about toys we went over to the barn for dinner and presents from my mom and dad. here are all the grand kiddos
kenadi 2, hailyn 4, scout 9 months, kayden 3, mila 3, lauryn 17 months, and kamryn 3.
then scout went down for a nap while the cousins opened another round of presents from grandma and grandpa (my dad looks pretty cool in his sweatpants holding the remote and a beer. classy.)
I'd say my kiddos did pretty good this year, mila got a baby all gone, nursery station, princess dolls, strawberry shortcake car, a pile of gap clothes, charm bracelet, blanket, princess activity pad, tea set, pretend brownies, etc. scouty got: a pile of gap clothes, new robeez boots, tool set, a scout dog, green monkey, cars, new tennis shoes and he and new baby got their pottery barn duffel bags:
david didn't get anything from me because he bought himself an xbox and blinds the month before and said that would be his presents. he got me a new coat, some perfume, and gloves (that look like old lady gloves, so i returned them). my parents got us a nice little gift card to the home depot so we can remodel the upstairs bathroom(!), new serving/mixing bowls, some other kitchen utensils, calender, a new ironing board for david, and a boot scraper so he's not tracking mud in the house anymore. good prezzies that will all go to use :)
after din din we had the yummy dessert i made, the grand raspberry trifle (martha's recipe) and went home to watch the town. on sunday we went back over to hang out with the fam while aren and david went skiing. kamryn got her ears pierced which led to this...
i am still shocked and amazed at how good she did! i'll start from the beginning. so she tells me she wants earrings like kam so we go to claire's and check out the price and ask when a good time would be since i definitely wanted to people doing it at the same time. the girl tells me 5:15 is the latest we can come in so we go home and take naps and wait for david to get home from workie. on the way there she tells me she wants "pink ones, no purple, no maybe pink. pink, mom. okay?" so we get there and they mark her ears
scout watches from stroller, ready to cover his eyes with his blanket
she talks to the caire's girls while she waits, complimenting their earrings and headbands. then its time...she still has no idea what is actually going to happen. they put the little guns to her ears and count to 3. all she says is "ouch" then picked a sucker from the jar and that was it :) not a single tear from my brave girl.
after that we went back to the barn so she could show grandma and grandpa and played baby with her brother
all in all it was a great weekend! now i'm counting down the days until christmas 2011 :)
