Better late than never! We went to the carnival on a one of the "pay one price" nights which was pointless because the 3 hours that we were there, Mila only went on five rides due to the long lines. Jones hung out in the pack the whole time and people watched, Scout whined until it was his turn to go on the little kid rides.
We skipped the kiddie parade and instead went to the Grand Parade.
Such a trooper, hung out in his pack the whole time and never complained!
Today you are two! I cannot believe it's been two whole years since I entered the world of boys! Every time I look at you I thank God for giving me the sweetest, most sensitive little boy ever. You are truly a gift.
In the last year you have become a big brother, become more independent, played with your sister like a big kid, learned to talk and lately to pee and poop on the toilet! Those are some major accomplishments :)
You have been pretty laid back until about two weeks ago when you must have realized you were quickly approaching your second birthday and decided to become a "terrible 2-year-old." You have been a little short tempered and bedtime hasn't been so easy. But on the upside you can now say any word we ask you to say and you are getting better and better at potty training.
-You still do an "h" sound for words that begin with the letter "f" ie, hork instead for fork, hone for phone, etc.
-You are terribly afraid of bears.
-You call "Phinneas and Ferb" Herb.
-You love, love, love to eat fruit.
-You are obsessed with tractors and cleaning things.
So Jonesy turned one on St Patrick's Day, we kept it low key with just dinner and cake since the boys will have a double birthday party on Saturday, which also happens to be my birthday.
I now have two 1-year-olds (well just for another week until Scout turns 2). Crazy.
Jones had his one year check-up this morning, his stats:
Height: 31" (85%)
Weight: 24.7lbs (77%) Fun fact, Mila weighed 18lbs at her one year check-up!
Head: 19" (93%) <--------- Big head!
I just looked at Scout's one year stats: 29" for height, 23lbs and same for head. I always thought Scout was bigger at Jones's age, I guess not.
He did great until it was time for shots, poor baby. He's still not anywhere close to walking, just cruising around furniture. He is also off the ba-ba! No more buying formula! EVER!!! I didn't wean him, we just quit cold turkey in this house.
We went to Mary's studio for some birthday pictures on Saturday. I can't wait to see the ones she took, I snapped this one at the end when he was definitely done.
Then we went on a walk, Scout stayed in the pack for twenty minutes afterwards and looked at pictures on Grandma's phone.
The little cake I made Mila wanted to blow out the candles, her hair caught fire after I took this picture. (just barely) I usually let them dig into their birthday cake but he had just had a bath...
